I think both people speaking bring up strong and believable cases for the point of view and I can’t really bring myself to fully agree with one. Strangely enough, in fact, I feel uncertain about this whole conversation. If you were to ask me to answer some of the questions they asked each other, I would have to say: I don’t know. I feel that maybe my best answer as to why is that it’s difficult to make any overarching statement about the whole thing. I feel that this issue is truly a situation where one must take each case in a vacuum. Not from the circumstances of the case but from prior thoughts of the issue. As for how to solve the issue in its entirety, it would be to encourage conversation between people engaging in those activities. In all relationships, communication is one of the most important factors of the success of that relationship. And that includes everything from long term romantic relationships to one night stands. The problem is that society as a whole doesn’t like to have those conversations in the first place.
